Welcome to Frankie’s Bartender Guide! Here, you will find a list of five cocktails and their recipes, as well as five snacks that pair nicely with them. We have also provided a summary of the tastes and flavors of each drink so that you can know what to expect before you order them. The weekly specials will change every Saturday, and we hope you will enjoy new drinks each week.
1. Gin & Tonic
Gin is a type of alcohol made from juniper berries and other herbs and spices. We have a series of the best gins, brewed by distilling wine, grains, or other fermented products. We love to keep a variety on our bar’s shelf to whip up special cocktails for you. Gin’s flavor usually comes from juniper berries, coriander seeds, cardamom pods, and angelica root. Gin is great with everything, but a plate of tangy chicken wings is always my go-to choice with sharply flavored Gin drinks.
2. Strawberry Mojito
The 2nd cocktail on the list is one of the most famous of them all, the mojito. There are many variations on this drink, but traditionally it is made up of white rum, lime juice, sugar or honey, and club soda. This week’s special is strawberry Mojito. Which one is your favorite? Just let me know at the bar counter, and I will have it made for you.
Thinking of a snack? Seafood is your best bet with Mojitos. For instance, try our deep fry Shashamo fish.
3. Dark and Stormy
To love this cocktail, you’ll need to be a fan of ginger beer, lime juice, and dark rum. I usually muddle the lime in the glass with sugar syrup (2 parts sugar to 1 part water). Pour in ginger beer and dark rum, then top it with ice, and voila! Why not try some English Fish and Chips along with your rich and surprisingly smooth rum cocktail.
4. Bloody Mary
If you are in the mood for something with a little bit more of a kick, our spicy Bloody Mary will do the trick. Spicy food particularly complements this cocktail. I simply mix it without ice and then serve it over ice, so you have that nice and thick Bloody Marry with a smooth texture. Anything as simple as Mexican nachos and chips sprinkled with chili flakes or our range of Burritos.
5. Cosmopolitan
Lighten up your Saturday mood with exhilarating layers of Cosmopolitan cocktail. Sour from the lime, a hint of sweetness from its orange flavor and fresh from the Triple Sec/Cointreau, finished with a kick from the vodka. Have you tried our authentic Italian pizza bites? They go wonderfully well together with a tall glass of Cosmopolitan.
Check out us each Saturday. We have five delicious drinks for you to try the next weekend. If you want a fruity and refreshing drink, our Ginger Pear Collins might be perfect for you. The Apple-tini is another great option if you are looking for something sweet. I will look forward to seeing you at Jakarta’s best hangout bar.
